FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE.
DEMAND MADE BY BUTCHERS. VOLUNTEERS CARRY ON WORK. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] FEILDING, Saturday. Union butchers engaged at the Feilding freezing works yesterday made a demand for double rates of pay for the killing cf ram lambs. The directorate decided to carry on with the volunteer butchers who were retained by the company following the trouble earlier this season. Negotiations have been commenced between the cempany and the men, and an early settlement is anticipated.
