TROTTING.

SEASON'S FIXTURES. February 12— N.Z. Metropolitan Trotting Club. February 19, 23—Otahuhu Trotting Club. February 26, March 2—Wellington Trotting Club. March 5, 7—Waikato Trotting Club. March 9—Manawatu Trotting Club. March 12 —Taranaki Trotting Club. March 12, 15—New Brighton Trotting Club. March 2G—Thames Trotting Club. April 16, 18—Hawera Trotting Club. May 7—Cambridge Trotting Club. June 18, 22—Auckland Trotting Club. NOTES BY PICADOR. The Hawera Trotting Club has fixed its meeting to bo held on April 16 and 18, and the programme issued in connection therewith amounts to £4030. Hadicaps for the events to be decided on the opening day of the Otahuhu Trotting Club's meeting were announced on Tuesday and their appearance has caused interest in the meeting to quicken. The handicapper. Mr. R. T. Reid, had large fields to deal with, and his adjustments should meet with a good response from owners tomorrow, when the acceptances for the first day fall due. Fifty-two horses have been handicapped for the Tamaki Handicap on the first day of the Otahuhu meeting, and the field for that event promises to be exceptionally large unless a good number drop out on acceptance day. It will be interesting to see just how many horses will make tie acceptance. Maggie Pronto is pacing freely in her work and A. Rhodes will nave her in excellent trim for the coming meeting. Don Douglas is also making satisfactory progress and it should not be for lack of condition if he fails to race in improved fashion in the near future. W. J. Tomkinson will drive the pair in their engagements at the coming meeting. The high-priced Concliff, who was purchased in Sydney a couple of months ago by a patron of W. J. Tomkinson's stable, figures among the horses engaged at the Otahuhu meeting.; Concliff has a great reputation and is expected to accomplish big things in New Zealand. The horses Ribbonwood's Last and Grand Style, whose handicaps for the Otahuhu meeting were withheld until yesterday, are members of C. Rokkjer's team in Sydney. Ribbonwood's Last raced in Auckland about two years ago, but he must have improved a good deal since then, for he won the Sydney Thousand last year.

Up to the present T. Richards has had no luck with his Australian importations, Tiger Salve and Longford. The pair have been distinctly disappointing since corning to New and have ® failed to show any form. Longford has done very. little racing and there is still time for him to make improvement.
