STOPS BY BUSES.

CRITICISM OF PROOEDURE. COMPLAINT BY MOTORISTS. ' The way in which buses step at different points was criticised by the council of the Auckland Automobile Association last evening. Mr. A. Grayson said both corporation and private buses observed stops which caused traffic congestion. Mr. H. C. Jones said it was difficult to. limit the buses to determined stopping places, but it was necessary to place a Han on stops in certain points in the city. Buses seeking passengers were liable to stop with complete disregard for the progress of other traffic.

It was decided to appoint a deputation to confer with the chief traffic inspector. The secretary reported that as a result of complaints the City Council had forwarded a notification 'to the effect that tramway motormen had been warned against stopping to pick ut» passengers between the regular steps.* In . future motorists would rely on the trains observing authorised stops only, "unless action was required to avert an accident.
