CYCLIST'S FATAL INJURY.
FORKS OF MACHINE BREAK. [BY TI.XF.C2.IP !£.—-PRESS ABSOCf-ITtOK.] GEEYMOUTH. Monday. The death occurred last evening of Mr. Thomas Baxter, sawmiller, who recently was cycling down a zig-zag road (torn Ku.ma.ra, v. hen the forks of his machine broke and precipitated the rider upon bis head. Suffering s grave injury to the forehead, he underwent an operation in Grey River Hospital. . Mr. Baxter, who was born 59 year* ago at Hokitika. had been identified with the sawmilling industry ..since its early stages on the West Coast in partnership with his brother, Mr. Willfitm Baxter, now a m4»it *f Auckland.
