THE DOBSON MINE.
STEPS TO REMOVE WATER. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. t [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COEIIESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON. Sunday. Steps taken is connection with the anwatering of the Dobson mine were outlined by lbs Minister of Mines yesterday, m replying to criticism that the mine was not being uawatered as rapidly am possible. He said that as after discussion with the agents of British manufacturers it was discovered it would take many months to import the necessary plant to unwater the mine it was decided to borrow plant. After thorough examination and tests of its efficiency steps ■ were promptly taken to dismantle the filanit and transport it to Dobson. It would take several weeks for the concrete foundations to be put in and set before tho plant could be erected and worked. A careful review of the steps taken showed that those entrusted with the duty of procuring the vquired equipment had ••arned out their duties expeditiously.
