STRUCK BY MOTOR-CARS.
TWO ACCIDENTS YESTERDAY, YOUNG WOMAN SEVERELY HURT SLIGHT INJURIES TO BOY. A serious accident occurred at the corner of Dominion Road and King Edward Street about sight o'clock last evening, Miss Eunice Comeskey, aged 28, residing at 105, Grange Road, Mount Eden, sustaining very severe injuries through being struck by a motor-car. Miss Comeskey was stepping from the footpath outside the Dominion Road post office to board a tramcar proceeding to the Dominion Road terminus when she was struck by the motor-car, driven by Mr P. R. McMahon, of Peary Road, Mount Eden. Miss Comeskey was rendered unconscious. When admitted to the Auckland Hospital she was found to be suffering from injuries to the head and abrasion.* At an early hour this morning it was reported the condition of the patient was critical. Miss Comeskey was formerly a nurse in the Auckland Hospital. Slight injuries were received by Douglas Clayton, aged eight years, through being knocked down by a motor-car in Great North Road, New Lynn, about four o'clock yesterday afternoon The child stepped from behind a motor-bus and was struck by the car, which was driven by Mr. R W. Robinson, of EpsOm. The child was removed to the Auckland Hospital, aud was found to be suffering from abrasions.
