THE PLAY ASSOCIATION.
SUMMER SESSION JENDED. CUPS FOR COMPETITIONS. The children's sports held by the Auckland Play Association in Potter's Park on Friday concluded the association's summer sports programme. Arrangements are now in hand for establishing: & community club in the Napier Street School. A cup for cricket and a cup, for girls' volley ball have been presented to the association by Mr. E. H. Cucksey and Mr. J. Hislop respectively. Receiving these on behalf of the association on Friday, the president, Mrs. N. E. Pernor, referred to the idea aimed at—to set the game before the prize—and complimented tho teachers on the wonderful results they had obtained with the children. Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., addressed the children, r rring to their fine display in handicrafts and in games. Ii was "announced that the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, had consented to become patron of the association and that Lady Alice Fergusson would be patroness.
