MR. LLOYD GEORGE.
PROPOSED VISIT TO RUSSIA, It is understood that Mr. D. Lloyd George has decided, provisionally, to pay his long-contemplated visit to Roseia next spring, and is now making arrangements to that end. He had intended to visit Russia during this summer or autumn, but the political situation at home has prevented this, says a London paper, and it is only if the position, both inside and outsido the Liberal Party, is favourably that he will make the trip next year. The visit will be of a purely private j character, and Mr. Lloyd Gecrge will probably be accompanied by one or two of his political friends. Qilite recently he has received a number of letters from prominent people in Russia suggesting that he should pay this visit to see for himself what is happening under soviet rule. Ho is personally very anxious to study the social experiments upon which the Soviet have embarked, and it is understood that, although the invitation to Mr. Lloyd George did not come olficially from the Soviet, every facility will be afforded him for un-rst.cafinjl - ters upon which he desires information. Mr. Lloyd George is very desnoui ot finding out at first hand the value ot the i experiments which during the past four or five years have been made by the Soviet. |
