NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP HANNAN TO MEET MASON. [by telegraph.—owjr correspondent.] "WHANG ARE I. Wednesday. Local sculling enthusiasts met J. P. Hannan upon his arrival yesterday afternoon. Han.nan is to meet James Mason, of Whangarei, who has challenged the visitor for tho New Zealand title and £IOO a side. The race is to take place on a date to be arranged and it will be decided over the course upon which Mason beat George Ceruti last, season. The champion looks well and he declared he is fit.. His boat was due in Auckland last evening from Blenheim and he expects to have it in use to-morrow.
