A WOMAN ASSAULTED.
YOUTH ADMITS THE OFFENCE. "RAPIDLY GOING DOWN HILL." Described by the police as a youth who was rapidly going down hill, William Butler, aged 16, pleaded guilty in the Police Court yesterday to a charge of assaulting a married woman.
Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that shortly after eight o'clock 0:1 Tuesday morning accused called at complainant's hou?e. When the woman said her husband was not at home, accused rushed at her, grabbed her by the throat and knocked her down. When she called for help, accused ran away. The magistrate, Mr. Hunt, remanded 'accused for sentence for a week to await a report from the probation officer.
