RUGBY FOOTBALL.
AUCKLAND UNION AFFAIRS. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Football Union met last evening, Mr. 11. Frost presiding. in the absence of further particulars, it was decided to definitely abandon the proposal to send an Auckland team 011 tour in the Bay of Plenty this season. Permission was granted to the Mauukau Rovers Club to play a return match against I'atumahoe at Onehunga on Saturday. On the occasion of the retirement, of Mir. H. Cliffe from the presidency of tfie Referees' Association, the committee recorded its appreciation of Mr. Cliffe's services and of the good feeling that had always existed between the two bodies during his tenure of office. A sub-committee. comprising Messrs. Oram, Tilly, Kronfeld, ClifTe and Buchanan, was appointed to attend to the* compilation of next year's issue of the Rugby Union's handbook. ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY. Following are the arrangements for Saturday's Rugby football matches in Auckland : —- Senior Grade.—Ponsotiby v. Grammar <Charity Cup). Show Grounds No. 1. 3 P.m., Mr. "W. J. Meredith; Manukau v. Patumahoe (friendly game), Onehunga No. 1, 3 p.m.. Mr. D. V. Moore. Third Intermediate Grade.—Ponsonby v. Grafton, Show Grounds No. 1, 1.45 p.m., Mr. C. Thomas. House Matches.—Churches' Union. Show Grounds No, 3, 3 p.m., Mr. F. E. Sutherland; Waitemata v. St. George's Rowing Club, North Shore. 3 p.m.. Mr. ,T. Finlayson; "W.Y.M.I, v. Bible Class Union. Outer Domain, 3 p.m.. Mr. J. W. Edwards.
