A RUNAWAY ENGINE.

WRECKING OF A TRUCK.

A REMARKABLE ACCIDENT,

A remarkable incident occurred in the railway yards at Lismore, New South Wales, recently. An engine was in readiness to take out a train, and was standing in the shed. Apparently the ihrottle had been thrown open, as, when the steam pressure reached 601b. tl:o engine moved off, and gathering speed, dashed into a goods truck, which it wrecked. The engine was then boarded and brought to a standstill. It, is stated that it had attained a speed of about 40 miles an honr. Tho truck was 150 yds. from where the engine had been standing.
