NEW MINISTER INDUCTED.
REV. A. MACDONALD ASPLAND
The induction of the Rev. A. Macdonald Aspland, formerly of Frankton, to the charge of Knox Presbyterian Church, Parnell, took place at the church on Tuesday evening, when there was a large congregation- The Rev. L. H. Hunt, of Mount Eden, as moderator of the charge, presided, and preached a sermon suitable to the occasion. He then inducted Mr. Aspland, the latter being given the right hand of fellowship by the members of the Presbytery present. The Rev. Evan R. Harries, of St. James' Church, addressed the minister, and the Rev. Frazer Barton, of St. Stephen's Church, addressed the congregation. The new minister was introduced to the members and adherents by the session clerk, Mr. A. Murray Bc.ll, as they retired from the church. Immediately at the closo of the induction service a social to welcome Mr. and Mrs. Aspland was held in the Sunday School hall. Mr. Hunt presided and there wore associated with him on the platform the Revs. G. Brdd, W. Ready, Canon Percival -James and Mr. Beil. A musical programme was rendered .and speeches of welcome delivered. At the conclusion of the speeches Mr. Hunt vacated tho chair, which was taken by the new minister, who, on rising to respond, was enthusiastically received. He thanked them for their cordial welcome and stated that ho looked forward to having a successful ministry in Knox Church. On behalf of the congregation the session clerk presented Mr. Hunt, tho retiring moderator, with a slight token of appreciation of hia services.
