INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATIONS.
CHANGE OF NAME PROPOSED. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.], CHEISTCHURCH, Sunday. One: important subject to be threshed out at the annual conference of the New Zealand Industrial Associations is the question of the name for; the New Zealand body. At present there is a bill before Parliament whereby the name of ,the Industrial Association' will "be changed to "The Manufacturers' Association," and it is likely that delegates will decide at the conference that the name of the combined associations shall be "The New Zealand Chamber of [Manufactures." ... The', conference, which will be held; in Christchurch-on October 13 and 14, will be the largest arid most important .ever held in New Zealand. Representatives from all parts of the Dominion will be present and, with the idea of linking up with • the' smaller centres, such as Invercargill, Wanganui, New Plymouth,, Timaru and others, delegates from these towns have beoa invited.
