LOUISIANA STORM.
DEATH ROLL TWENTY-FIVE. ENORMOUS DAMAGE DONE. A. and N.Z. NEW YORK. Aug. 28. The latest news frotn New Orleans concerning the storm which swept the east coast of Louisiana is that 25 lives were lost and that sevoral people are missing. The damage is estimated at between £1,000,000 and £2.000,000. At Houma, 46 miles south-west of New Orleans, the storm assumed hurricane proportions. The representative of the American Red Cross Society has issued an appeal for help. The War Department has authorised the despatch of Government blankets and cots from New Orleans.
