General Tong Seng-chi's troops havo broken through the allied forces of Cheng Tsoling and- Wu Pei-fu on thf right flank of the Hunan front. It is now admitted that the collapse of the Kuominchun (National Army) in the region of the Nankow Pass is completo, though the troops held the position until they were Virtually blown out by high explosives. Allied troops have now occupied Kalgan and the Kuominchun forces aro in general retreat. They havo successfully removed ail thoir important military stores. According to a semi-official report' General Feng Yu-Hsiang ordered the general retreat, which the majority of the Kuominchun leaders deemed to be unwise. They dared not opposo Feng however.
