A message from Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, Central America, states that the Mayor of the city and several noncombatants are reported to have been killed in a revolutionary outbreak there. The rebels evacuated and burned part of Quezalguaque, including the. largest distillery in Nicaragua. The Government forces have been conscripted and no exemptions have been allowed. They have reoccupied San Marcos after a sharp sfcirmish. The losses inflicted on the rebels are said to have been severe. The revolutionists -were badly beaten at' Tamarindo, a village on the Pacific coast. Many were killed or wounded and others are in flight. The rebels abandoned 10 machine-guns, 700 rifles, 500,000 rounds of ammunition and other supplies.
