KAITAIA DAIRY COMPANY.

COST OF HERD TESTING. [by temghaph.—own correspondent.] KAITAIA, Saturday. The twenty-fifth annual meeting of the Kaitaia Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was held in the Northland Hall, the chairman of directors, Mr. C. S." Puckey, presiding. The report and bal-ance-sheet were adopted. Considerable discussion took place regarding group herd testing. Several of the shareholders complained about the company' having to make up the deficiency—about £2oo—in the cost, and considered that those who were in the groups should pay for any loss. However, the general feeling was that the testing was a benefit to the whole company,- so the £2OO was passed. A resolution was carried asking the Minister of Agriculture to endeavour to obtain a reduction in the cost of manures. One of the difectors objected to- the freight arrangements on the AwanuiAuckland run made by the company. After considerable discussion a resolution of confidence in the directors was carried.

The retiring directors, Messrs. Puckey, Grigg and Michie, were re-elected unopposed. At a subsequent meeting of the directors Mr. C. S. Puckey was re-elected chairman. 1
