FUNCTION At AVON DALE. CENTRE EXECUTIVE'S VISIT. The president and, members of the executive of the Auckland Bowling Centre paid the Avoridale Bowling Club an official visit on Saturday. The visit was highly appreciated by members of the Avondale Club, who assembled in full force to welcome the visitors. Members of the Croquet Club provided afternoon tea. During the afternoon Miv J. W. Hardley received hearty congratulations on being elected president of the Dominion Bowling Council. Messrs. Thompson and Gladding were also congratulated on their election to th'e council. The annual meeting of the Waipu Bowling Club was well attended and the greatest interest was shown in • the affairs of the club. The outgoing committee s report was a most satisfactory one and showed the club to be in a flourishing con ) dition. Mr. D. R. McKay was elected president, Mr. A. E. Snaith was; re-elected secretary and treasurer and Mr. IN. McMillan was appointed. superintendent. Trophies were presented to last year's competition winners, Mr. C. ■ N- McLean secur* ing the championship singles, handicap ■ singles and, with Mr. N. McMillan as his skip, the championship pairs, Messrs. McilfHan and Langhorne annexed the Harrison medals.
