INCOME-TAX RETURNS.

FAILURE to supply. PROSECUTIONS AT HAMILTON. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Saturday. Fines of £2 were imposed on Frarik Colbeck aud James Osborne in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court yesterday for failing to furnish income-tax returns. The Crown Solicitor, Mr. H. T. Gillies, said in both cases default assessments had been made and the taxes paid. Defendants were each ordered tp pay £3 3s solicitor's fee and 7s costs.
