TE AWAMUTU POWER.

PROPOSAL TO RAISE £25,000. IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVICE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU. Sunday. A poll will be taken by the Te Awamntu Electric-Power Board on Wednesday on a proposal to raise a loan of £25,000 to further improve the electricity service. The improvements make provision for equipping the lines with static condensers and safety devices. The chairman of the board, Mr. J. T. Johnson, has addressed meetings throughout the district in support of ttye proposal. The latest Public Works Estimates contain particulars of subsidies to the Waipa and Otorohanga County Councils for road ■works in various parts of this district. The work contemplated will enable access to be given to places that have suffered disabilities for many.years. Supplies of cream and milk to. the dairy factories operating in the district are increasing rapidly and are considered to be in excess of supplies at this time la&t sea- - son.
