GERMAN EXPRESS SMASH. NINETEEN PERSONS KILLED. TWO- COACHES TELESCOPED. By Telegraph—Press "Association— Copyright. Beuter. BERLIN. Aug. 19. Nineteen persons were killed and 14 injured through the, derailing of the Berlin Cologne-Flushing express" near Lehrte. The train was travelling at nearly 50 miles an houTj jat two o'clock in the morning, when the engine jumped the rails and crashed down an embankment. Two coaches were telescoped. Rescue work was difficult, owing to the darkness.
