NEW RAILWAY STATION.

OUTWARD GOODS SHED. CONTRACT LET FOR £44,000. COMMODIOUS BUILDING PLANNED. The Railway Department has let the contract for the erection of the new outward goods shed at Auckland to Mr. N. Cole, builder and contractor, of Auckland. The price is io the vicinity of £44,000. This is the first building to be erected in connection with the big scheme for a new railway station at Auckland. The shed, which will be of reinforced concrete, will be erected with a frontage of 165 ft. to; Breakwater Road, and will extend back, with a side elevation to Quay Street, to a. depth of-464ft. It will cover 8400 square feet of ground and Will provide double the space at present furnished by the existing shed. for outward goods. : It is intended to place the building 34ft. back from the present aligiimeht of Breakwater Road in order that; the flatter, may, be widened to 100 ft, ■ : A second shed is to bo ejected o'm the adjoining site after the new station has been completed. j'"*,, •.
