TROTTING.

SEASON'S FIXTURES. August 13—Metropolitan Trottine Club. ■ October 16. 20—Auckland Trottinst Club. October 23. 25—Greymouth Trottina Club. October 25—Oamaru Trottine Club. October 30—Timaru Trotting Club. November 9 11, 12— N.Z. Metropolitan Trotting Club. November 20. 24—Otahuhu TiottinE Club. December 4 —Waikato Trottine Club. NOTES BY PICADOR. The majority of backers were unprepared for Great Bingen when he won the Speedaway Handicap at Addington on Wednesday, for he returned a double-figure dividend. It was his first appearance in the Dominion since his trip to Perth, and many no doubt thought that he was in need of racing. His performance in covering the niile and a-quarter in 2m 43 2-ss. an average late of about 2m lis to the mile, proved that the champion pacer retains his brilliancy, and we may expect further good thincs from him throueh the Beason. The performance o£ Peterwah in winning the Avon Handicap at Addington on Wednesday in the eood time of 4m 37 4-5s on a track that was not fast furnished further proof of his excellence. The imported .trotter is only reaching his best, and oefore long be may add to his many other excellent dualities a faster record. The Auckland horse Doctor Dillon has been unlucky at Addington. as he has been narrowly beaten in his two starts. When he. finished second to Peter Bingen on Wednesday he must have gone round about 4m 30s. and has been unfortunate to nave made such a fast record for only a small amount of success. Hitherto Peter Bingen has been regarded as purely a sprinter,- but in winning the Canterbury Handicap at Addington on Wednesday and going two miles in 4m 34s he has given cause for a revision of that opinion. Age is evidently bringing him increased stamina and there should be more success awaiting him if he continues to develop staying ability, for he is a very brilliant pacer. Talaro maintains his consistency and added another second to his record in finishing behind Countryman in the King George Handican at Addington on Wednesday. There is not the slightest doubt that be is a very genuine racehorse and one that is still likely to go on improving. METROPOLITAN MEETING. ACCEPTANCES FOR TO-DAY.
