A MAORI COMMITS FRAUD. THREE MONTHS IN PRISON. [by telegraph.—press association. ] CHKISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Hui .Kai Rehu, who has just completed a term of two years in prison, elected to be dealt with summarily by Mr. H. P. JLawry. S.M i( in the Police Court this morning on a fraud charge, to which he pleaded guilty. Rehu was charged with having inourred a liability of £l6 with Samuel Beale, by obtaining credit by fraud. Chief-Detective Gibson said tho man came to town and passed as a Maori with a large income. He was riding about in taxis and incurred liabilities of £l6, by issuing valueless cheques. He was just out of prison., A sentence of three months' imprisonment with hard labour was imposed. ' I ' '
