DAVIS CUP CONTEST.
BRITAIN VERSUS SPAIN. ENGLISHMEN WIN RUBBER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) MADRID. July 10. In the Davis Cup contest Britain v. Spain the former won the first two singles matches in the semi-final, European zone. Gregory (Britain) beat Flaquer (Spain), (Britain) beat Sindren (Spain), 7—5, 2—6, 7—5, 3-6, 6-3. In the doubles Crole Rees and Kingsley. (Britain) beat Flaquer and Morales (Spain), 11—9, 6—4, 6—2. The Englishmen thus won the rubber.
