Five tenders for carting metal from the Athenree quarry to the TaurangaWaihi Road were received, and that of S. Smith, at Is 8d per yard was accepted. A deputation from Mount Mannganni Domain Board asked that the council should not collect rates on the Domain. The question will be referred to the solicitor for the Counties' Association. A deputation of Pongakawa settlers asked that a new road be provided from the Swamp Road to the Pongakawa School. This road would reduce the distance to the school for certain children from five miles to about one mile. The acting-chairman said the council would assist the proposal as far as possible.
