CHRISTIAN CONVENTION.
AUCKLAND GATHERING. A three days' convention for the deepenin-; of the spiritual life has just concluded in the city. The meetings were arranged by the committee of the United Christian Convention, which is working on what are known as Keswick lines. The speakers were tho Revs. Leonard B. Dalby, of Pitt Street Methodist Church, A. J. Grigg, the minister-elect of the North Memorial Baptist Church, Remuera, Evan R. Harries, St. James' Presbyterian Church, and Mr. C. J. Rolls, superintendent of the Bible Training Institute. Others wh-> took part in the meetings were the Revs. E. N. Goring, Frazer, B. Barton Ivan S. Stebbins and Mr. W. J. Mains. The Rev. Dalby warmly commended the effort to teach Scriptaral holiness, and spoke of the great conventions with which he had been associated in England. Addresses were delivered by the Rev. Grigg on the Person, Historical Manifestation, Character and Work of the Holy Spirit. The president, Rev. Evan R, Harries, announced that the chief speaker for the Christmas Convention would be the Very Rev. Dr. G. E. Weeks, of Sydney, formerly Dean of Nelson. The executive has set up a small committee to make inj quiries as to the best locality for holding the convention, which for two years has been held in Ngaruawahh.
