RIOTING IN INDIA.
CLASH BETWEEN NATIVES. SHOPS AND HOUSES LOOTED. (Received 9 p.m.) Router. DELHI. July 8. A serious inter-communal situation has arisen in Pabna, two hundred miles from Calcutta, following a clash between Hindus and Mohammedans over the desecration of Hindu idols, resulting in Mohammedans looting Hindu shops and houses. The disturbance spread to outlying villages. Mohammedans surrounded the police and attempted to rescue co-religion-ists, whereupon the police fired, wounding some. Indian troops are going to Pabna.
