ART STUDENTS' BALL.

EFFECTIVE COSTUMES. The mask and fancy dress ball given by the students of the Elam School of Art in the Society of Arts hall last evening was most successful. The scene presented in the ballroom was very effective and picturesque. A charming variety of costumes was worn, many being conspicuous for their beautiful blending of colour and originality of desigu. The prizes were awarded as follow: Prettiest costume, lady, Miss Musseler, Spanish Girl; gentleman, Mr. White, Toreador; best carried out costume, lady, Miss Wilkie, Yellow Taxi; gentleman, Mr, S. Williams, black and gold ana green harlequin. During the evening an Oriental dance was given bv Miss Rae Sullivan.
