THAMES COUNTY SUFFERS.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES. Monday. A report that floods during the month had been responsible for heavy damage in various parte of the county was made to the meeting of the Thames County Council by the engineer, Mr. J. Higgins. The most serious mishap occurred in the Hastings Riding, where the Wafkanau Bridge had been partly washed away, A pier had been moved out of position and the bridge generally was now in a very decayed state. A new bridge of the required type would cost £4OOO. The Public Works Department had beon advised of the position and would convey its decision to the council.
