IMPORTANT TRIAL TO-DAY.
SELECTING TOURING TEAM. | A game that will have an important bearing on the selection of the League j football team to tour England will be played between tr.e North Island and the South Island representatives at Car- ' law Park this afternoon. The code has made rapid strides in the South, and the Southern team «s expected to extend the North thirteen to the uttermost Thi fact that the players will be striving for places in the touring team will be an incentive to all to give of their best, and a bright and exciting exhibition is confidently expected. There will also be a match between A and B Auckland teams. The players in all teams are eligible for selection in tho New Zealand combination. The teams are as follow: NORTH ISLAND. Fullback : C.
