CONDUCT OF HOTEL.
LICENSE RENEWAL DEFERRED [BY telegraph.—own correspondent. ] NEW PLYMOUTH. Wednesday The application of F. C. Emeny for a renewal of license of the Oakpru Hotel was adjourned until next quarterly meeting by the Taranaki Licensing Committee to-day, owing to ah adverse police reportCounsel for the applicant pointed out that the report dealt with a suggestion that the licensee, was in the habit of allowing Maori women to frequent his hotel.
Tiie chairman said the committee strongly disapproved of the serving of Maori women with liquor and proposed to adjourn the application for renewal for three months. Counsel submitted that the licensee was entitled to his renewal, as there was no objection to it.
The Chairman : He is not going to get a renewal just now.
