RAID ON A STEAMER. FAMILIAR TRICK SUCCEEDS. Sun. HONGKONG, March 31. A Chinese steamer, the Hsdng-kong which was en route from Shanghai to Canton was attacked by armed pirates. The latter were disguised as passengers. The pira<tes herded and bound all the other passepgers and stripped them of itheir money and valuables. They loaded the loot, valued at about £12.000, into fishing boats which were awaiting them near Bias Bay, a notorious pirate base near Hongkong. Many of the passengers were emigrants returning from America who had in their possession substantial savings.
