MORTGAGED DAIRY FARM. BANKRUPTCY AT HAMILTON. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Monday. An examination of the affairs of Charles Edward Clarkson, plumber, Hamilton, who was recently adjudicated bankrupt, was made before the deputy-official assignee, Mr. L. Champion, to-day. Bankrupt said he made every effort to pay his creditors, but the financial burden connected with the purchase of a dairy farm became too heavy for him, and the action of the mortgagee in pressing him forced him to file. He had nine cottages, all of which yielded rent well in excess of c-xpenses. The administration of the property was left in the hands of the deputy-official assignee. Bankrupt was allowed to retain his motor-car. Although no resolution was passed the opinion was expressed that bankrupt haul conscientiously endeavoured to meet his obligations..
