ELDERLY MAN'S FATE.
ACCIDENTAL DROWNING. VERDICT AT THE INQUEST. • The inquest concerning the death of Mr. Ja:.nes Morley White, aged 70, who was found drowned in Oakley Creek, Avondale, on Sunday morning, was concluded before the coroner, Mr. W. R. .VlcKean, S.M., yesterday. Evidence was given by deceased's wife that he was missed from his home in Albert Road about 9 a.m. on Saturday. Philip Crago, brother-in-law of deceased, said he found the body in Oakley Creek about 9 o'clock on Sunday morning. Deceased's coat was found further down stream. Constable Doran said he recovered the body. There were marks on the bank of the creek which might have been caused by deceased slipping. Deceased was a frail man. The coroner said there was nothing to indicate suicide. He found that death was due to accidental drowning.
