FIRE ON THE HILLS.
A BURN NEAR ARARIMU, [BY TELEGRAPH.—-OWN , CCEaESPONPENT-J PUKEKOHE, Wednesday. Busk fires are to be noticed this evening on the Mils toward Ararimu. Smoke was first seen rising early this afternoon, and as darkness fel! points of fire becania visible. Seen through binoculars the fire seemed to extend along a frontage some length, possibly up to two miles, and to be sweeping the upper slope of ft wooded hill. Apparently no immediate anxiety 1* felt by residents in the vicinity, as tbi* Ararimu post office,, which closes at 2 p.m., was not kept open, and thus telephone communication was cub off. ln " qv;iry at Huntui elicited the information that nothing untoward had been reported from Ararimu.
