INVITATION TO GANBERRA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Used. 8.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 15. The Australian Commissioner to the United States, Sir James Elder, has returned from Washington to New York. He says he took up the question of an invitation to General .Pershing to take part in the ceremonies in connection with the opening of Canberra. General Pershing, who had just returned from South America on a Government mission, was too ill to discuss anything at present, but said he would be delighted to visit Australia if circumstances permitted.
