It is very gratifying notwithstanding the financial stringency, and the many calls that are made on the public purse, that the citizens have responded so liberally that the Band is permitted to attend and uphold the reputation of the city. The Members would also desire to thank Miss Sandford and her pupils, the leading artists, for their very excellent concert of Thursday evening last, especially Mr.. H. Richards and our esteemed fellow-citizen, the Rev. Jasper Calder, who so successfully organised the concert.
