MOUNT ALBERT BOROUGH.

RAISING BALANCE OF LOAN, POWER BOARD REPRESENTATION. The Mount Albert Borough Council inet last evening, the Mayor, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, presiding. The question of representation on the Auckland Electric Power Board was discussed and the-Mayor was unanimously selected as a candidate. The council decided to borrow £18,700, being the balance of the £IOO,OOO loan cf 1920, for the construction of roads and provision of plant and machinery. Various roads in the borough will be improved with the money. No special undertaking is oontemplated. Forty-five permits for buildings, valued at £20,084, were issued for the three weeks ended Fobrsuiry 11. These iii-j eluded 23 for dwellings valued at £18,952. During the preceding three weeks 40 permits, valued at £25,502, were issued, including 29 for dwellings valued at £23,354.
