THE HOSPITAL BOARD.
TREATING NAVAL PATIENTS. PROPOSAL TO BE CONSIDERED. The Auckland Hospital Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, presiding. There were also present: ; Mrs. E. A. Kidd, Messrs. J. Detnpsey, G. Knight, .W. A. Thompson, S. <J. Harbutt, M. J.* Coyle, W. K. Ho win, J. F.owe, E. H. Potter, J. McLeod and J. D. Chalmers. The question of treatment of inlectioua disea&ea cases occurring among wen 011 the Auckland naval station was raised in a letter from the Naval Secretary, who asked if the board would undertake the accommodation and treatment of such cases. The department would pay an annual subsidy and some part of the cost of cases. The matter was referred to the. Finance Committee, the medical superintendent to report. On the recommendation of the Purchasing Committee it was decided to call tenders for equipment for the Wallace Wards. The list included 150 beds and mattresses, 150 lockers aad chairs.
•The medical superintendent of tlso Mental Hospital announced that be now holds a neurological cllnio each Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock.
