BISHOP AND HERESY.
DEPOSED FRO M MINISTRY. APPEAL AGAINST CONVICTION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) NEW ORLEANS, Oct. I'2. Bishop William Montgomery Brown, who has been three times convicted of hereby for refusal to accept the doctrine of the immaculate conception, to believe the lit-erai interpretation of the biblical account of the creation and for recent alleged Communistic utterances and writings, has been deposed from the ministry of the Protectant Episcopal Church. Bishop Ethelbert Talbot read the sentence: "I declare you deposed from the sacred ministry." The ex-bishop afterwards announced that, because he considered his conviction was illegal, he would not heed the sentence, but would continue to administer and receive communion and perform the duties nf a bishop. Upon his request Judge Burns ordered the House of Bishops, which i.< sitting as part of the gencual convention here, to appear before, the Federal Court on Wednesday to show cause why the sentence should be imposed.
