Conditions were generally unchanged on the Auckland sharemarkefc yesterday. In Government securities the position Ws, unaltered, while there was a sale of Auckland Gas 5 per cent, debentures afc £9(?/. The usual demand existed in banks, but no sales occurred. New Zealands were -steady at holders 575, buyers 56s 6u. In; insurances holders of New Zealands were still at 36s 6d, .and buyers at 3fs 9d. South British again changed hands at 50s, with closing quotations, holders -5Gs feci., buyers 49s 6d. In gas transact ions in Aucklands occurred at 21s lOd and 21s lid. In shipping there was a< sale of Huddart-Parker at the lower figure of 44$ 3d. Late holders were at 44s Ssd, buyers, 445. In miscellaneous lines, Taranain Oils sold on a rising marked, the fijst transaction taking place at 215,, and the final one at 22s 6d. Holders closed for the day at 22s 9d, buyers '22s 3d. Wilsons Cement changed hands at the ruling price of 34s 6d. In mining Kawaraus were weaker to sell at 7s 7d and 7s, the second sale being at the buyers' quotation. A sale of Nonpareil, was reported at 6d, The following sales took place:—Auckland Gas 5 per cent, debentures, £9O; South British Insurance, 50s; Auckland Gas, 21s lOd, 21s lid; Huddart Parker, 44s 3d; Taranaia Oil, 21s (two sales), 21s 3d, 22s 6d; Wilsons Cement, 34s 6d; Kawaran, 7s 7d, 7s; Nonpareil, 6d.
