TOWN BOARD DECISIONS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] PAPAKURA. Tuesday. The Papakura Town Board met, the chairman, Rev. W. C. Wood, presiding. The Beautifying Society drew attention to the discoloured state of the soldiers' monument in the town. Members reported that a preparation was being applied to remove the stains. Proposals for the extension of the roads loan were submitted by the Works Committee. They will be dealt with at a special meiSfcing next Monday, when a request for the metalling of Arawa Street will also be considered. The board resolved to take an option over a shingle bed at Clevedoa for the delivery of "shingle to any part of the town at 14s a cubic yard. A request that a cricket pitch bo laid clown in the Domain Wits referred to the foreman for an estimate of cost. Fencing of the footpath 111 portion of Queen Street was authorised. It was stated that it would ultimately bo necessary to fence all footpaths on stock routes. . The expenditure of a further £oO in repairing the Great South Road, through Papakura was authorised. It was agreed to ask the Government to vest the Cemetery Reserve in the board, so that it could be leased, and thus bring m revenue.
