annual conference opened [by teuegraph.—press association. ] CIIRfSTCHURCH. Tuesday. The annual conference of the federation of New Zealand .Justices Association ' was opened this afternoon. The Mayor, Rev. ,T. K. Archer, tendered a civic welcome to the delegates. Mr. 1!. I), Hanlan presided, and liiero were about 20 delegates present. { The annual report advocated the sotting up of children's courts in the various centres, and made feeling reference to the deaths of ihe late Mr. Massey and Messrs. 0. E. Matthews and It. C. Bishop. Mr. 11. Jl. Smith was elected j president.
