THAMES STREET VERANDAHS. [By TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 MORRINSVJLLE, Tuesday. The Morrinsvillo Borough Council adopted several new by-laws submitted by the borough solicitors. An amount of £BS was granted to the fire brigade for the purchase of new hose. It was decided to call applications for a bath caretaker. As several verandah and electric lightpoles encroach on the rend way in Thames Street, and interfere with the work of put,ting down permanent kerbing and channelling, it was decided to notify the owners of verandahs to have the posts set back within seven days. A committee was appointed to meet the owners and endeavour to obtain a strip of land along the river bank adjoining the present- recreation ground as a scenic reserve. It was decided to take immediate action against the proprietors of any boardinghouses not connected with the sewerage, and also notify all oropertyGwners in the inner area that they must connect up us early as possible. The bank balances were shown as follows :• —Water loan, credit £111; sewerage loan, credit £625; reading loan, credit £25: sewerage connections, debit £224; road ing loan deposit account, credit £2500; baths loan, credit £153. The specifications for the Howie Park memorial gates were left with the finance committee to deal with.
