LATE MR. J. A. BRIND.
FUNERAL AT HAMILTON. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COBHESTONDENT. ] HAMILTON, Tuesday. The funeral of the late Mr. ,T. A. Brina took place this morning:, and was yenlargely attended. Among those present were the Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, and members of the Hamilton Borough Council, and representatives Of the Hamilton Gun Club, Acclimatisation Society, Waikato A. and P. Association, Hamilton East Ratepayers' Association, Frankton Citizens' Association. Automobile Association, Chamber of Commerce, and the Presbyterian Church board of managers. A short service was conducted in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church by the Rev. G. H. Gilbert, who paid an eloquent tribute to Mr. 'J3rind's sterling worth as a citizen and to his many valuable services to the community. The cortege was, nearly half a mile long. At the close of the graveside obsequies, recognition of Mr. Brind's services as a soldier was given by the firing of a salute by a company of High School cadets. The last post was sounded by three buglers. Many beautiful floral emblems were deposited on the grave.
