POSTAL PACKET THEFTS.

A postal messenger, 18 years of age, pleaded guilty to-day before justices to 26 charges of theft of postal packets, the majority containing postal notes and tank notes. The offences wero committed over a period dating from February, 1924. Accused, in a statement, attributed his downfall to living beyond his means. Ho ■was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court at Wanganui, bail being allowed.
