An expected arrival at Auckland about tho end of this week is the Norwegian sieamer Henrik Ibsen with coal and machinery from England for Sir W. G. Armstrong, Whitworth and Company. lho vessel left England on June 19 ajid cleared Durban on July 27. A small Quantity of machinery for Arapuni will bo discharged at Auckland. The remainder of tho cargo is for the East Coast railway and will be discharged at Tauranga. R.M.S. AORANGI IN PORT. An arrival at Auckland last evening was the Royal Mail liner Aormuri from Vancouver. Tha vessel arrived at 7.30 p.m. _Ln order to avoid delay through manoeumng amonc tho warships she did not anchor, but proceeded direct to her berth at tho Queen's Wharf, where medical insp«ction and customs examination was completed before the passengers disembarked. Fino weather prevailed on the voyage to Fiji, but after clearing Suva at 5.30 p.m. on Thursday strong south-west and southeast winds and rough head seas wero encountered all the way to Auckland and reduced tho speed of the veerol to 154 knots. Besides cargo and 0000 bags of mail for l New Zealand the Aorangi carried 524 passengers. of whom 306 were tor Auckland and the remainder for Sydney. A further number will join the- vessel to-day and she is ncheduled to resume her voyage at cloren o'clock to-night t COWDEN LAW FROM TEXAS. Tho tramp steamer Cowden Law arrived from Texas shortly before mid-day yesterday with 6200 tons of sulphur. The vessel borthed at tho King's Wharf to dischargo SHOO tons for this port. The remainder of the cargo is for Sydney and Adelaide. Tho cargo was loaded at Galveuton and tho Cowden Law sailed on July 9. She reached Colon on July IG and cleared Balboa the same day. Fair weather prevailed on the voyage until the Cowden Law was about eight days from Auckland whon stormy weather waa encountered. From them until the vessel neared port sho experienced a succession of westerly gales which blow in fierce rain squalls accompanied by high seas. On Wednesday and Thursday tho storms were the worst and tho vessel received a considerable buffeting and waves breaking on board kept the decks repeatedly flooded Very little aamago was done.
