Mrs C. E. Maguiro, of Auckland, and her daughter have had a three months' trip in the Sahara . desert. They spent sotrfo time in Algeria and Tunis, and had about six weeks in Biskra. It is mterestjnrr to note that they left the desert when the sandhills were covered with snow. Mrs. Maguire has taken a flat in Itampstead for the summer/ Dr. Maguire is expeeled next month, and the family will spend somo time in Bath, _ where Dr. Maguire will attend /the Medical Confer' ence.

In addition to being an author and a publicist of distinction, Miss Hoyden is well known ns a preacher at the G'iiildhovise in Lcclcston Square. Miss Hoyden, who is the youngest daughter of Sir Ihomas Hoyden, is still a young woman, but her experience is wide enough to Include the. cloistered scholasticism of Oxford and the hurlyburlv of mission work in Liverpool. It / was in 1920 that. Miss founded, ' with Dr. Percy Dearmer, the Fellowship Services through Which she has become famoos. Previously /she. was preacher at the City '.lemplc for three years. She is preparing another book, to be, called "Life's Little Pitfalls."
